A First Conversation

You've been meaning to do this for years.

This is the first easy step. A short conversation about your family. What you have, what you're worried about, and what to do next. You'll walk away knowing where you stand.

Where to Start When You're Ready to Get Your Affairs in Order

Most families come to us not knowing exactly what they need. A will, a trust, something else, or maybe what they already have is enough. The first conversation is fifteen minutes by phone with Shawn, the founder. He listens, walks through your options, and tells you what each one costs. If you decide to move forward, your next step is sitting down with Melissa, the attorney, to map your full plan.

You Don’t Have to Figure This Out by Yourself

I’m Shawn. I run The Hive Law with my wife Melissa, the attorney. Most families we work with have been thinking about this for years, and they tell me afterward that they wish they had called sooner. The hardest part is the first conversation, which is why I do every one of those myself. If we’re not the right firm for your family, I’ll tell you that.

What You’ll Know by the Time You Hang Up

The call is a conversation, not a sales pitch. You’ll talk, I’ll listen and ask questions, and we’ll work through your situation together. By the time you hang up, you’ll know:

  • What you have, and whether it’s enough.
  • What you don’t have, and whether it matters.
  • What it would cost to put a real plan in place.
  • Whether we’re the right firm to do it for you.

How This Works

Step 1. The first conversation is with me. About fifteen minutes, by phone. Long enough to understand your situation, short enough to fit into a Tuesday morning. No homework before, no follow-up after.

Step 2. The Design Meeting is with Melissa. If you decide to move forward, your next step is sitting down with the attorney. She maps your full situation, gives you her advice, and drafts your plan. That meeting has a price, and you’ll know what it is before you commit.

This Is for You If...

If any of these describe your family, you are in the right place.

You own a home in Georgia and have not put a plan in place
Your will or trust has not been reviewed in the last three years
You are not sure your family would avoid probate if you died today
You have retirement accounts, real estate, or investments and do not know how they would transfer to your spouse or children
You or your spouse do not have a financial or medical power of attorney
You have minor children and no one is legally named to raise them if something happens to you
Something has changed in your family and your plan has not been updated
You keep saying you need to get this done

If any of these describe your family, this is the conversation worth having.
